Welcome Back To School Message!

Hello Everyone!

I hope that you've all had a safe, enjoyable summer!

Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Nicholas Delahanty, and I am entering my fourth full-year as a teacher at Garfield High School. Below are the list of courses that I currently teach at GHS:

Broadcast Journalism (Full-Year Course)
Editing/Studio (Full-Year Course)
Television Production (Half-Year Course)

As we begin the new school year, I find it very important to ensure that everyone is aware of the current class procedures. On the tabs that are to the left of the screen, you will be able to access information regarding your child's specific course. I will use that section to provide class updates as well as upload important files (such as the class syllabus). My GBOE site will be updated weekly to help keep you up-to-date with our classroom activities!

Additionally, each student will also be added to their respective class' Microsoft Teams account. Microsoft Teams will become an active part of each student's learning experience, as educators will use this to provide online learning opportunities for their classes.

On my Microsoft Teams pages, I will utilize the area to not only provide students with some important documents and information regarding our course curriculum, but will also use this as a way to communicate with the students in the event that fully-online learning is needed. 

*FOR FULL ONLINE LEARNING*
I will be requiring my students to login for a Microsoft Teams meeting during their scheduled class period!

Example: If your child is enlisted in my Broadcast Journalism class (Block 1 on A-Days)
By meeting during respective block periods, this will ensure that the high-level learning that we strive for our a daily basis will continue. Meeting periods will be used to go over new materials, go over previous course work while also having the opportunity to discuss future assignments and course materials.

More information regarding Microsoft Teams and our daily procedure will be provided in the near future. 

As the school year begins, please encourage your students to check their school-issued emails on a daily basis. I will continue to provide important news and updates through email on a daily basis!
